My approach is wellness-focused and best suited for those who are not in crisis and who are ready to engage in deeper work. Developing increased self-compassion, radical acceptance and understanding about how we humans use self-blame to survive can help you move beyond the effects of trauma.
I care about "what happened to you" and I strive to provide a supportive space for you to share your concerns. Effective work can result in your improved ability to function and to pursue your best life. I offer acceptance without judgment, practical tools, constructive education and a conviction that you are capable!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years' experience in a variety of settings helping people get beyond traumatic experiences and on to their best life.

What can you expect from wellness-focused trauma counseling and coaching?
Though the difficult situations of the past can't be changed, we can work together to process through the effects of earlier experiences. By applying practical approaches and techniques, we will get to the root of behavior patterns or negative beliefs that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Freedom is waiting for you!
We'll use art, music, compassionate communication, reflective listening and other modalities to assist your growth. For some individuals, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and bilateral stimulation is appropriate. We'll make decisions, together, as to what modalities you would like to engage.
Cathy offers coaching for ex and exiting members of cults and high-control groups. Friends and family members may also benefit from coaching to cope with their concern. Coaching is goal-oriented and can help you transition out of an oppressive system to freedom.
