What can you expect from trauma counseling and coaching?
You can get beyond depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Response, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Response, addiction and any other condition that has kept you down.
Though the difficult situations of the past can't be changed, we can work together to process through the effects of earlier experiences. By applying practical therapy approaches and techniques, we will get to the root of behavior patterns or negative beliefs that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Freedom is waiting for you!
Cathy offers coaching for ex and exiting members of cults and high-control groups. Friends and family members may also benefit from coaching to cope with their concern. Coaching is goal-oriented and can help you transition out of an oppressive system to freedom.

Freedom From Cults
Are you an ex member seeking support?
Have you been or are you now a member of a high-control religious, psychological or secular group? Many people might call these groups "cults". I prefer the term "high-control" group in light of Robert Lifton's 8 criteria. Learning this term and reading Lifton's work,Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism: A Study of "Brainwashing" in China changed my life and helped me begin to think about leaving the religious group I had served for 26 years.
Over several months I struggled with the idea of leaving the group; I knew I would be shunned by friends and family. I did feel "all alone" with this decision.
Finally, in spite of the sheer terror I felt, I decided to choose freedom and personal integrity. As I had begun to question my membership as a Jehovah's Witness, I began to value my own personal integrity. This was an alien concept, previously. But now, I could not turn back.
I would start my life over.
I found very little support; very few therapists or other support persons knew about the effects of being in a cultish, high-control group. No support group was specific to the sadness and anger I experienced as I left the group. No one else I knew at the time understood how hard it was to tell friends in the group of my decision and to face the shunning that I knew I would receive.
What is SoulCollage®?
SoulCollage® is an artistic practice by which you can connect with the unique aspects of yourself, access your inner wisdom and make new friends while engaging your creativity. It can be used in many therapeutic settings such as psychotherapy and spiritual retreats. It is also a memorable activity for birthday parties and baby or wedding showers.
How can you benefit from SoulCollage®?
Do you think, "I'm not an artist?" SoulCollage® only requires a bit of time and willingness to experiment with your creative inner self. It can help you express emotions, process past traumas, cope with current stressors, and identify and connect with fragmented parts of yourself.
